The Narcotics Section of the Morgan City Police Department exists to provide an enhanced and specialized focus on investigating and suppressing any and all narcotics-related crime within the city of Morgan City.

Lieutenant Ricky Hartley has served the Morgan City Police Department since 1998. Lieutenant Hartley is presently assigned as the commander of the Criminal Investigations Division which oversees both Criminal and Narcotic Investigations. Lieutenant Hartley has performed many duties within the Morgan City Police Department including Patrol, Narcotics, Investigations, Corrections, and Sergeant.
