Uniform Division
The Uniform Patrol Division of the Morgan City Police Department is considered the backbone of the department with regards to the continuing fight against crime within our city. The Uniform Patrol Division is divided into four patrol shifts, which work twelve-hour patrol shifts. The Uniform Patrol Division works all accidents, provides traffic control, answers calls for service, investigates misdemeanor and felony cases, assists the small animal control officer after hours, in addition to numerous other duties and responsibilities.

Lieutenant James L. Mikeska has been serving the Morgan City Police Department since 2009. He has served the department in the capacity of Patrol, Sergeant on Patrol, Narcotics, Corrections, Sergeant, and in his current position as Lieutenant. Lieutenant Mikeska oversees two patrol shifts.
Lieutenant Carl A. Sofford has been serving the Morgan City Police Department since 2008. He has served the department in the capacity of Patrol, Corrections, Criminal Investigations, Sergeant, and in his current position of Lieutenant. Lieutenant Sofford commands two patrol shifts.
