Window Tint Violation
On July 17, 2024, investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Garber St due to a window tint violation.
According to reports, Nicole Michelle Swackhamer Jones was identified as the operator of the vehicle along with another occupant identified as Brian Joseph Derouen. Jones' driver's License was found to be under suspension.
Reports indicate that Jones was found to be in possession of approximately 1/4 pound of suspected Methamphetamine. She was also found to be in possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
During the investigation it was learned that Derouen and Jones had gone to the New Iberia area where the illegal narcotics were purchased. The investigation also uncovered evidence that the Methamphetamine was destined for illicit sales. The vehicle was seized pending civil forfeiture.
Derouen and Jones were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were charged accordingly. They were incarcerated and now await court proceedings.
